Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)This may answer some of your questions: Can't locate Android device?- If xfi Endpoint is installed and xfi Locator can't find the device, make sure the device is registered and the xfi endpoint shows "Device is registered" message. Also, make sure "Location" service is turned on the target device where xfi Endpoint is installed. If the Android device can be only located occasionally, do the following on the target Android device that has xfi Endpoint installed:. - Go to Settings/App/xfi Endpoint/Permissions/Location and make sure "Allow all the time" is checked - Go to Settings/App/xfi Endpoint/Mobile data/ and check both"Allow background data usage", "Allow app while Data saver on" - Go to Settings/App/xfi Endpoint/battery and check "Allow background activity" - Go to Settings/App/xFi Endpoint/battery, select "Optimize battery usage", select "all" and make sure that "xfi" is unchecked(off). Can't locate iOS device?- Make sure Find my iPhone is enabled on the target device with the same credential you use to log in to Locator app. Make sure the target device have internet connection. Restart target device if all settings look right but still can't locate. Location of target device is inaccurate?- Without GPS turned on, the location of the target device is just approximate and may be way off. You can turn on GPS on the target device to get more accurate location, but GPS can drain battery quickly, so that may not be an option. The app has no control over the accuracy of the device location. Without GPS, location accuracy just depends on many factors such as how many cell towers in the vicinity, location record of the WIFI router, location determination method used by cellphone carrier, etc. So, just keep in mind that location shown for target devices sometimes can be accurate and sometimes can be off. Need to locate xfi Endpoint device from any device such as iPhone, iPad or a desktop? use this web application at this URL:xfiLocator.comMy target Android device can only be located when it is on Wifi?- Go to settings/Apps/xfi and make sure "Allow background data usage" is checked. What is the FOCUS button for? If there are multiple devices on the same account, the map will automatically zoom into the focused device. Unable to login? - Make sure you are on the latest version of the app. - Verify that your credentials are correct, verify the credentials by using another login method like logging in via a web browser. - If the credentials are saved, remove and re-enter. - If the credentials are correct but still can't log in, try to login using another device. - The account may be disabled if there are many failed attempts. If the account is disabled, login would fail even with correct credentials. You may need to take a break and try again the next day or search for instructions to re-activate the account. What is that watch icon on the upper right corner? -The watch symbol is to show, hide watches, airpods. If you don't have any of those in your account, the symbol wouldn't do anything. Regards

When you have multiple devices on one account there needs to be a way to set a default device. Currently the default is all devices. You can select one device but if you turn your phone and the display changes it goes back to all devices so you have to select just one again.

Auto refresh doesn't always stay on and has to be selected over and over.

Could you tell me what the differences are between the lite and pro versions? Will there be no ads on the pro version?

We'll try to come up with a friendly way for you to select a focus device and remember that until you change or clear it.

Auto refresh doesn't always stay on and has to be selected over and over. We purposely stop the auto refresh after a period of time to avoid draining the battery on the target device. We can extend that time a little bit longer. We'll try to implement these in future releases.

We just released an update to the app store with these features that a number of users have requested: - Adds option to set focus(zoom-in) on a single device if there are more than one devices. Just tap "All Devices", tap the device and then tap "Focus", the focus device is remembered until it is changed to another device. - Extends timeout time for Auto Refresh, this allows Auto Refresh to run longer before it stops.

Quick question: when i am trying to locate a device (iPhone 4) it will give me a location a few miles away from where the phone actually is. It will stay on this location for a few refreshes, then will suddenly move to a different location, stay for a few refresh cycles, then suddenly move to the location where the phone actually is. Sometimes the false location is an actual house, sometimes the middle of the desert...Not a complaint, because I love this app, just wondering if this is normal behavior for the app, or if it is server related. Thanks for an awesome product!
Answer: Thanks for writing us. That is the expected behavior. To further explain why it behaves so, this is how the app works: - When the app just comes up, it just displays whatever location it can get. This usually is an old, stale location, a location of the device sometime it the past. It then waits for the device to send a new fresh location. When a new fresh location received, the dot is gradually animated to move from old stale location to new location of the map. Its color also changes from grey to green to indicate location is fresh. Hope this helps.

Ever since I purchased the full version of you app, every time that I open the app it takes me to the Google Play Store app and I have to click" open" to use the app., it doesn't open the actual app from the home screen icon. And it appears that I have lost the functions of navigate and focus...they are no longer present. Any suggestions?
Answer: With the full version installed, the lite free version also becomes unlocked and is free of ads. Continue to use the lite version to avoid having to reentering username/password

Pleaseeee help... in struct me what to do without deleting the existing app Something you can try that doesn't remove saved credentials: - Make sure you have latest Google Play Services, on your device, go to play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms&hl=en- Go under Settings, Application Manager, find Google Play Services and hit Clear Cache. Also find xFi Locator and hit Clear Cache. - Try the app again.

Ken I really enjoy this app as it helps me keep track on my family members. But I have noticed that if one of them is talking on their phone at the same time that I am tracking to locate them, it does not update their location until they disconnect their call. Why is that? And is that something that can be done in a future release? Thanks
Support <rdlysoftware@gmail.com> Jun 18 (4 days ago) to Ken CDMA technology used by Verizon has that limitation that prevents phone from connect to the internet while on voice call. Only iPhone 6 may have special ability to simultaneously do both. Hope that explains it.

Robert Hello, a quick question about your brilliant app. It says I can track an Android device but it says entertainment Android pin. What is that and how do I find it please? Thanks. Rob P.s. in the app it also says focus and focus on. What does that mean?
Support <rdlysoftware@gmail.com> Jun 17 (5 days ago)
to Robert Hi Rob, Thanks for your brilliant question. You are not the first one who asks about the Android pin, so I wonder if the "Help" link on the login screen is helpful at all. If it didn't help, it may need to be re-written. To locate an Android device, you need to install an app called "xFi Endpoint". Go to Google Play, download the app, load it and register with a PIN of your choosing. After install and register the device, you can use the xFi locator to locate it. Hope this helps Regards,

to Robert Forgot to answer the other question about the focus option in my last email. The focus option is useful when you locate many devices on the same map. Picking a focus device would automatically make the map zoom right into that device.

Hi, chanced upon this app . Read good reviews abt locating phones of children without having to put an app on their smartphone .... does not seem like it. As your prompt in xFi Endpoint says , I am to launch it on targeted devices. In that way , my children will know that I am monitoring them, correct ?....

My target Ios 6 goes from grey to green after 2 auto refresh. That is about 3mins or more. The next location stays green for 5mins but it is 3km away. 2 more auto refreshes and it shows 1 km nearer. Finally after 5 auto it shows position about 10m. Can the time lag in auto be reduced? Also is it possible to show a history of locations/data/updates for a particular day within a past week?
This app is the absolute. God knows how many I tried and the days wasted. It is also not intrusive. Many thanks to a fantastic team
